Anna Dello Russo at Bottega Veneta FW2014
Anna Dello Russo wore an elegant full skirted tweed suit to the Bottega Veneta show on Saturday. Love the feminine silhouette of this look.
Thinking Pink, Outside BCBG
Lily Kwong at Diane von Furstenberg
Model Lily Kwong looked amazing in a micro polkadot print jumpsuit and camel coat at the Diane von Furstenberg show on Sunday.
Shala Monroque and the Eiffel Tower
This was one of my favorite “food and fashion” moments of the last women’s RTW season – the ever-glamorous Shala Monroque of Garage Magazine eating a beignet in front of the Eiffel Tower. She had arrived early for one of the shows and was just taking in the view. The vintage rabbit bag is a nod to her blog, Shala’s Rabbit Hole.
Anja Rubik at Gucci
Model Anja Rubik wore a cool mix of black and white at the Gucci show in Milan. The open knit sweater was particularly ahead of the curve and would be a great option for spring.
Two Girls in the Snow, Outside Dolce & Gabbana
Two girls dressed alike in a very Italian take on pink and green outside the Dolce & Gabbana show in Milan. We had miserable weather that day, and still they looked managed to look fabulous.
Model Off Duty, After Moschino
In Milan, the fashion set saw inclement weather as an opportunity to break out their best winter duds. This is really a case of “when in Rome” – Italian ladies have been known to don their best fur coats just for a trip to the grocery store. After the Moschino show, a model left in a brilliant red fur coat and leather leggings.
Natalie Joos at Prabal Gurung FW2013
Mark my words: Oversize coats like this one trendsetter Natalie Joos wore last year will be all over the streets during New York fashion week this year. She balances the menswear cut with a feminine bright pink turtleneck sweater, green damask pants and green velvet platforms.
White Lace Dress and Plaid Jacket, Outside Chanel
I love this combination of a formal gown made of exquisite white lace with a casual beret and plaid jacket. The jewelry and Chanel bag take it up a notch further, styling-wise. Very French, very Chanel.
Nasiba Adilova at Derek Lam
Buro 24/7‘s Nasiba Adilova – a great fashion insider to follow on Instagram BTW – looked fabulous in navy at the Derek Lam show. The flounced sleeves and the navy color of her dress are such a nice alternative to your basic black uniform – something to keep this in mind as winter nears.
Valentino Coat, Chanel Bag and Jeans, Outside Valentino
This is the kind of high-low mix that stylists and editors love: a très chic (and expensive) Valentino coat and Chanel matriochka bag worn with a down-to-earth pair of ripped boyfriend jeans. Even if you can’t throw on your best Valentino and Chanel, you can take a cue from this girl: this fall’s shredded boyfriend jeans are best worn cuffed with heels, especially if you’re petite.
Black Floral Top and Skirt, Outside Louis Vuitton
A super cute but ladylike look outside the Louis Vuitton show. She’s also carrying the new Louis Vuitton bag.
Maria Kolosova at Gucci
Maria Kolosova of Kyklamasha and Harper’s Bazaar Russia wore a pretty black and white polka dot dress to the Gucci show in Milan. The ace of hearts playing card clutch she carries is by Urania Gazelli – a big hit among the fashion girl crowd. Love how the red matches the lining of the dress. Detail shot of the bag, after the jump. (more…)
Black and White Print Pants, Outside Rochas
Here are more of the new pants for you, looser, expertly tailored, and a little bit cropped in this case. Another development seen on the spring runways as well as the streets: playing with volume in the back of jackets and tops. Designers like Sacai have taken a cue from traditional Japanese garb and added an unexpected pouf to the back of jackets and tops, as on this one. Click through to see the jacket in profile. (more…)
Green and Red, Outside Dries van Noten
Clutches: they’re not just handbags but impromptu umbrellas during a sudden rainstorm. Outside the Dries van Noten show, a guest ducked for cover under a red clutch that matched the red stripe on her green and black tunic.
