Cut-Off Khakis, Outside Ralph Lauren
Hyunjeong Ji and Irene Kim at Ralph Lauren SS2015
Models off duty Hjunjeong Ji and Irene Kim both wore black and white to the Ralph Lauren show in New York – a great graphic punch.
Linda Tol at Diesel Black Gold SS2015
Blogger Linda Tol of I Believe in Pink wore a goldfish appliqué shirt and white jeans to the Diesel Black Gold show yesterday in New York. Bucket bags like this one are the bag to have this season.
Eleonora Carisi at Diesel Black Gold SS2015
Designer Jeremy Scott has really made a splash at Moschino, starting with his McDonald’s-themed collection of last season and now with a Sponge Bob Squarepants-themed one for fall. The mass market images are so jarring to see on high fashion – including evening gowns – that it makes you rethink this dichotomy altogether, rather like Karl Lagerfeld’s supermarket-themed show for Chanel. Are mass and class really total opposites, or have they merged? Italian blogger Eleonora Carisi of Jou Jou Villeroy wore a Moschino yellow Sponge Bob sweater under white overalls with a clutch appliquéd with images of pizza, cigarettes and an eye. We are watching, indeed.
David Thielebeule at Tory Burch SS2015
Yes, already we are back to leather jacket season and this was a particularly cool one on WSJ’s David Thiebeuele yesterday at Lincoln Center. He mixed it with a white tee, windowpane plaid pants and lace-up oxfords. Note that he did not go for sneakers – keeping it sophisticated with just the right ratio of casual to formal. You have to walk the line.
Eva Chen and Baby Bump at Lacoste SS2015
Eva Chen has a new look for fall: a baby bump! Here she is in a plaid Marc Jacobs dress, personalized Edie Parker clutch and Balenciaga boots outside the Lacoste show. Close up of the bag – and bump – after the jump. (more…)
Caroline Issa and Yasmin Sewell at Ostwald Hegalson SS2015
It was such a pleasure to see these two lovely ladies Caroline Issa and Yasmin Sewell at the Ostwald Hegalson show yesterday. Both wore black and white maxi dresses (Yasmin’s by Josh Goot) and both are designing their own clothing lines now. Caroline Issa’s for Nordstrom comes out in spring 2015, and Yasmin Sewell’s collection for Barneys is in stores now.
Leandra Medine at Creatures of the Wind SS2015
Leandra Medine wore a great white shirt by Rosie Assoulin with jean shorts and sneakers to the Creatures of the Wind show in New York. Also love the sculptural wood clutch.
Anya Ziourova at Schiaparelli FW2014
Anya Ziourova is one of the best dressed women on the fashion week scene, and certainly one of the best dressed pregnant women anywhere. Rather than sticking to maternity clothes, she adapts current fashion to her changing shape. At the Schiaparelli show in Paris, she wore a green top and skirt with zigzag trim. Close up of her Olympia Le Tan “Greater Love” book clutch, after the jump. (more…)
Red White and Blue Maxi Skirt, Outside Dior Couture
Here’s another great maxi skirt, this time in red white and blue, perfect for summer in either France or the U.S.
Nasiba Adilova at Christian Dior Couture FW2014
Sneakers were all over the runways for fall 2014, but in an interesting takeaway, the It sneakers of the moment are by Dior, not a certain other high fashion house you may associate with sneakers (and supermarkets). Dior sequinned mesh sneakers have been seen on many fashionable feet this couture week, including Nasiba Adilova. Close up after the jump. (more…)
Anna Dello Russo in Saint Laurent, Outside Schiaparelli
Virginia Smith at Ralph Lauren Resort 2015
Here’s another great summer work outfit: nautical pants and striped red top on Vogue’s Virginia Smith.
Marina Larroude at Ralph Lauren Resort 2015
Congrats to Marina Larroude, who just got tapped as the fashion director of Teen Vogue. The Brazilian-born beauty wore a high-waisted swingy polka dot skirt to the Ralph Lauren resort show last week, paired with some eye-catching leopard-print platform sandals.
