The same crew that set out on this winter’s Arthur Avenue food tour met up again a few weekends ago, this time in Astoria. Our mission: to seek out authentic Greek food at the end of the N line.
It may seem like typical Greek food is everywhere now. Most supermarkets stock deli containers of tzatziki and eggplant dip, kalamata olives and pitas, but a lot has gotten lost in translation. This country that prides itself on the super freshness of its ingredients and the strict tradition of its recipes, neither of which you’ll find in most processed Greek food. (more…)
